Canada and The Island sign infrastructure agreement PDF Print E-mail
The governments of Canada and Prince Edward Island signed a Framework Agreement worth $270 million under Building Canada—the Government of Canada’s long-term infrastructure plan—that will help address infrastructure needs and priorities on The Island until 2014. Besides issues such as safe drinking water and wastewater systems, the two parties recognize the economic importance of broadband coverage, and have committed to exploring broadband connectivity as a funding priority.
