October 15, 2009

Optelian, a designer and manufacturer of optical transport systems, released the RGN-10XO 10 Gb/s, G.709-compliant regenerator module. It can act as a mid-span OTN regenerator or a demarcation point regenerator between an OTN and non-OTN networks. RGN-10XO can also act as a transponder, wrapping a short-reach 1310 or 1550nm native client signal into a long-reach OTU-2 signal. It has pluggable XFP interfaces for use in a variety of applications, including CWDM and DWDM systems. The RGN-10XO, says Optelian, complements the MPX-3GOTN muxponder in LightGAIN’s OTN product line.
