Legrand Ortronics introduced a self-terminating Cat 6A FTP/shielded cable jack for workstation applications that boasts a tool-less termination process to reduce installation time. An “installer-friendly” wire lacing feature includes a wiring diagram, maintains pair geometry and limits the untwisting of pairs. Closing the jack housing fully seats the lacing cap onto the jack insulation displacement contacts (IDCs), terminating all four cable pairs simultaneously. The die-cast metal construction creates an integral shield that provides 360º coverage, while a supplied cable clamp provides a reliable shield/ground wire connection. These shielded keystone jacks mount into all TechChoice faceplates, frames and bezels.

Legrand Ortronics says its new Lumen pre-polished fiber connectors bring “an unprecedented level of ease and reliability to fiber field installations by reducing installation time to two minutes or less on a prepared optical fiber, without the need for special installation tools or equipment”. The reusable pre-polished connectors feature a built-in window in the connector body that allows a visible fault locator (VFL) to be used to verify proper installation during assembly. The connector may also be reapplied up to five times simply by deactivating the fiber locking feature, re-cleaving the fiber and reinstalling the connector. Lumen LC connectors are available in 50 micron LOMF, single-mode, and 62.5 versions. SC and ST versions will be introduced later this year.
