 Belden says its 3600 Pre-Term Made Easy cabling solution delivers robust and reliable Cat 6 performance, making it suitable for data centres and office environments. Since all system components are factory-tested, there is no need for the extensive testing and troubleshooting typically required in cabling installations, says the company. In addition, says Belden, its plug-n-play installation and component reusability results in lower cost and less waste. The system is fully supported under Belden’s IBDN 3600 Certification Program, including guaranteed bandwidth of 280 MHz and 25-year IBDN Product Warranty.

Corning Cable Systems says its Pretium 550 cable solutions are OM4 compliant, meeting the new standard for laser-optimized, high-bandwidth, 50-micron fibers approved by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) in August 2009. Bandwidth requirements for the new OM4 standard are identical to OM3 with the exception of the 850-nm values; at this point, both the laser-based effective modal bandwidth (EMB) and the legacy overfilled launch (OFL) bandwidth are increased from the OM3 requirements. The increased EMB bandwidth supplements system margin and extends distance for 10G in addition to 40G and 100G. Video applications, virtualization and convergence are driving the need for higher data rates and the subsequent new standard, says Corning, adding that OM4-compliant cabling solutions provide a pathway to futureproof networks and ensure that bandwidth requirements are met or exceeded.

Accubid released version 4 of Enterprise Estimating Pro for structured cabling contractors, which consists of multiple modules—including Enterprise Estimating, Enterprise Manager, and Enterprise Price Update. Accubid Enterprise includes a number of enhancements that extend the system’s capabilities, including a material database from major manufacturers. In addition to enhancements within Accubid’s regular annual release, the introduction of LiveCount—the on-screen takeoff tool—rounds out the product offering, improving productivity during the estimating process.
