The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) is calling for nominations for the 2010 Young Canadian Engineering Professional of the Year Award. It recognizes a professional in Canada who is making his mark on the industry. Nominees must be a Canadian resident, an SCTE member, and under the age of 35 as of Dec. 31, 2009.

ADC and Tyco Electronics reach FTTX licensing agreement |

Tyco Electronics has taken a license to certain ADC patents directed to fiber-to-the-premises (FTTX) technology. The agreement settles existing litigation between the two, says ADC, whose patents relate to fiber distribution hubs, optical splitter modules and fiber drop terminals.
