| Settlement regarding trademark issue on Fujikura fusion splicers |

21 January 2010 Fujikura Ltd. says that it and Vibrant Technologies Inc. have come to a settlement with regard to the lawsuit Fujikura filed against Vibrant, which revolved around a trademark issue on fusion splicers. Under the settlement, Vibrant has agreed to stop selling Fujikura fusion splicers that Fujikura asserted were modified from their original manufactured condition.
