Winnipeg neighbourhood enjoys FTTH with MTS PDF Print E-mail
16 February 2010

MTS launched a fiber to the home (FTTH) network in Waverly West, Man., a new neighbourhood in Winnipeg. By using optical signals that extend directly into the home, the company says FTTH “provides higher quality and reliability while laying the foundation for even faster broadband connections and new services in the future”.

The provider will begin using its FTTH network to service a majority of new housing developments within the City of Winnipeg. MTS also expects to deploy the network to existing customers in a smaller community outside of Winnipeg this year. Overall, about 500 homes will receive FTTH service in 2010.
